Social Engagement
Social Engagement
Great Hornbill Resort often engage in various social initiatives that enhance community well-being and promote sustainable tourism. Here are some examples of social engagement practices we follow :
Local Employment and Training
We prioritize hiring local staff and providing them with training opportunities. This not only boosts the local economy but also helps preserve cultural heritage. As a part of our social responsibility, a staff of ours from the local community is physically challenged.
Community Development Programs
We often participate in or sponsor initiatives aimed at improving local infrastructure, education, and healthcare. As a part of this we have played an important role in bringing 3 phase electricity connection to this area, bringing high speed internet connection by putting fibre optic cables. And we have conducted free Ayurveda medical camp for the local community.
Sustainable Practices
Engaging in eco-friendly practices, such as organic farming and waste management, resorts contribute to environmental sustainability while educating guests about the importance of conservation. We give priority in purchasing organic vegetables, milk etc from our neighborhood.
Cultural Exchange
Resorts frequently host cultural events, showcasing local arts, crafts, and cuisine. This not only enriches guests’ experiences but also supports local artisans and promotes cultural preservation.
Support for Local Businesses
We source most of our products like food and forest products from local vendors, fostering economic growth within the community.
These practices not only enhance the guest experience but also contribute positively to the social fabric of Kerala, making tourism a catalyst for local development.
