Climatic conditions are predominantly influenced by the Southwest monsoons. Weather conditions are more suitable in the valleys. However, the higher slopes become fairly cool during the monsoons. The southwest monsoon is usually very heavy and nearly 75% of the annual rains is received during this season. The milder Northeast monsoon is received in October – November. The slopes with evergreen or moist deciduous forest cover have higher relative humidity than the teak plantations in the valleys
